Robert S. Michel, M.D. 
Dr. Rob Michel has lived in Charlottesville since 1980. He attended college and medical school at UVa, followed by pediatric residency training also at UVa. In 1990-1991, Dr. Michel served as Pediatric Chief Resident and joined the pediatric faculty for 8 years. In 2000, Drs. Michel and Wasserstrom opened Piedmont Pediatrics. Though he enjoys all of general pediatrics, he particularly enjoys monitoring the growth and development of children. Free time is spent with his wife, Ann, and three children, Rob, Grace and Joe. He also enjoys bicycling, running and swimming.
Gretchen L. Wasserstrom, M.D.
Dr. Gretchen Wasserstrom grew up in McLean, Va. She attended Rice University, swam on their swim team and majored in Business. She attended University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, and then did her residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, TN. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is married to Richard Brantley and they have two children. Outside interests include eating, reading and sleeping.
Mary Anne Mayo, M.D.
Dr. Mary Anne Mayo grew up in North Carolina. She attended college at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and medical school at East Carolina University. She completed her internship in Pediatrics before returning to UNC to finish residency. She was selected as Pediatric Chief Resident in 1996-1997. She practiced Pediatrics for three years in North Carolina before moving to Charlottesville and joining Piedmont Pediatrics in December 2000. Outside of Pediatrics, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Marty, and three children, Zachary, Kathryn and Jacob. She also enjoys cooking, running and outdoor activities.
Jocelyn Schauer, M.D.
Dr. Jocelyn Schauer grew up in San Francisco, CA. She attended college at Stanford University and medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles. In 1991, she moved to Charlottesville to begin her pediatric training at the University of Virginia. Upon completion of her residency in 1994, she joined the UVa Pediatric faculty, working primarily at the Northridge office. In 2002, she joined Piedmont Pediatrics. She and her husband, Ashley, have two children, Timothy and Annaliese. In her spare time, she enjoys art, cooking and traveling.
Carol A. Boersma, M.D.
Dr. Carol Boersma grew up in Arlington, Virginia. She attended college at Stanford University and then lived and worked in Boston, Massachusetts for two years prior to attending medical school at the University of Virginia. Her fondness for Charlottesville led Carol to stay at the University of Virginia for her residency training as well, where she was honored with multiple awards for teaching and clinical excellence. Upon completion of her residency in the summer of 2005, Carol was delighted to join Piedmont Pediatrics. She and her husband Jonathan have a son, Sam. Outside of work, Carol enjoys running, swimming, knitting, and involvement with her church. Carol is fluent in American Sign Language.
Angella D. Stitely-Lamm, CPNP, MSN, RN
Angella is a native of Virginia . She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1997. Due to a family member's chronic illness, she was moved to pursue nursing, a profession where she could make a difference in the lives of others. In 2000, Angella graduated from the University of Virginia School of Nursing with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While acquiring her Master of Science in Nursing and community health leadership, she worked at Martha Jefferson Hospital in women's health. Angella was drawn toward pediatric nursing and in 2001 joined the team at Kluge Children's Rehabilitation Center specializing in cerebral palsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. In 2006, she became a pediatric nurse practitioner and is excited to be a part of Piedmont Pediatrics. Angella is interested in providing health care to all children, but remains focused on children with developmental disabilities and special health care needs. She and her husband, Mark, enjoy hiking and outdoor activities. In addition, Angella's hobbies include running, cooking, and photography.
